Horseman
In feudal times some aristocrats of our region had imposed use of illuminating the most beautiful parts of their homes with the “candlestick knights”. These plastic figures, always different from each other, in shape, in colors or decorations, were used especially to illuminate the dinner tables. The potters of Grottaglie were often engaged to create these small sculptures thus highlighting the economic faculties of clients.
